No shows without notification will be charged the full price of the scheduled appointment.

Privacy

Abundant Life Wellness, LLC will not share your personal, medical or contact information without your written consent.

Illness

Massage therapy and bodywork is not appropriate care for infectious or contagious illness. If you have any signs of respiratory disease (including but not limited to fever, chills, cough, sore throat, runny/stuffy nose) or signs of gastrointestinal disease (including but not limited to vomiting or diarrhea), please cancel your appointment as soon as you are aware of any of these conditions. Our office sees a high volume of immunocompromised individuals, and we want to be as careful as possible to mitigate any unnecessary exposure.

  • How should I prepare for my bodywork session?
Whether this is your first or tenth session, we encourage all of our clients to come prepared to savor some uninterrupted YOU time. We ask that you silence cell phones and all electronic devices during your session. It is also important to stay hydrated before and after your session. For certain bodywork sessions (e.g., massage therapy and manual lymphatic drainage), we recommend you undress to your comfort level. Many clients remove all but underclothes while some clients undress completely. You will be draped at all times. To maintain your privacy and comfort, only the body area that is being worked on will be undraped. For other services such as yoga, your provider will share in advance of your session any items you may need to bring with you. Some clients choose to remain silent during their session while others prefer to engage in conversation. It is your session, so choose whatever works best for you. Your provider will adapt to your preference.
  • I have never tried yoga or a bodywork session, and I'm nervous about getting started. What should I do?
This is a valid concern and know that you are not alone. Many clients can feel anxious about trying something new. If you are curious about our services, we encourage you to give us a call. We'd be happy to discuss options and create a plan that works best for you. Every service can be tailored to fit your needs, and we never force a specific technique. If it doesn't feel good, we'll stop and move on.
  • Why am I asked to share my health history information?
After scheduling your first appointment, you will receive an email that includes a health intake form and office policy information. The information you provide is used to create a unique session customized to your needs. It is important to share accurate medical records to ensure a safe and therapeutic bodywork session.
  • Will my health information be shared?
Your health information and medical records are protected under HIPAA and will in no way be shared with anyone other than your provider unless a written medical release is obtained from the client.
  • What should I expect after my session?
If possible, we recommend keeping a low-stress schedule for the remainder of your day and remember to stay hydrated. Depending on the service you receive, you may feel tired and on occasion, sore. While our goal is to provide a nurturing environment and session, this can sometimes be the body's response to invited change. Other clients may feel energized and ready to tackle the day. Let your body be your guide.
  • How often should I receive bodywork?
The answer to this question is unique for every individual depending on your health and wellness goals. Many people come in initially to address a specific problem which may require more frequent visits. Then as you start to experience the benefit of symptom reduction, you can begin to space out your sessions with a schedule that works for you. It may take multiple visits to resolve a specific problem completely. For general preventative/wellness care, most clients schedule a massage every 3-4 weeks.
  • Will insurance pay for my sessions?
We do not accept any form of insurance. We are happy to provide you with a receipt of service that you may use for filing for reimbursement if that is an option for you. We do accept valid HSA/FSA cards; however, it is the client's responsibility to determine if your service is eligible.
  • Is tipping required?
Gratuities are graciously accepted but are by no means expected. You will receive the same quality of care whether or not you tip. Your referral of Abundant Life Wellness services to others is the most gracious tip we can receive.
